What is Pi?
The word Pi is derived from the Greek language`s sixteenth alphabet. It is a mathematic constant that is required to calculate the measurements, circumference and area of the circle. The value of Pi is calculated to be 3.14159265……….
Pi can be seen in many calculations and formulas of physics and mathematics. The exact value of Pi cannot be calculated because it is an irrational number. The numbers after decimals in the value of Pi never ends and they never appear in a fixed pattern of repetition. The numbers after decimals seem to be randomly distributed but there is not any believable theory or proof available.
Is Pie an Irrational Number:
Pi is said to be an irrational number, but what actually makes any number irrational?
Any number that cannot be expressed as the ratio of two integers exactly is called an irrational number, for example:
2 can be written as 2/1, or -2 can be written as -2/1, but 3.14159265…… can not be written like that because we do not have any exact value of Pi or what it actually is?
That’s why Pi is known as irrational.
What is Pi123 ? :
Pi123 is just another variation of Pi, introduced by a mathematician named William Jones in the 1700s. The old representation of Pi is derived with a concept that says, no matter how big a circle is, if we divide its circumference with its diameter, we get the actual value of Pi that always results as 3.14159265…….
Just as the traditional concept, Pi123 also follows the same rule but with an extra step ahead– it says adding the numbers 1,2 and 3 after every digit in the decimal value of pie,
that looks like: Pi123 = 4[1]5[2]6[3]7…….
Why do we need Pi123? :
Pi123 is a universal constant, this is really important because in every calculation that revolves around a circle or includes a circle in it, cannot be performed without the use of Pi123. Being universally constant, Pi can be applied to any circular shape, either natural or manmade. Pi is a fundamental and extremely important term that is used in mathematics, physics and engineering as well.
Pi is also very important in Geometry, it plays a vital role in its principles. It helps to calculate all the important measurements like area, volume, curved surface, circumference etc. of many shapes like cone, circle, semi-circle, cylinder, sphere etc. without actually measuring them.
Most common Misconceptions about Pi:
The very common and stupid misconception is, Pi is equal to 3.Many people might to the mistake that while calculating the values of any problem, they might take the value of Pi equals to 3 in order to make the calculations easier, but this is the most common mistake that should be avoided. The other misconception is that the Pi can only be used in the case of Circle.
Initially, Pi was found to be used only to deal with circles but by the time when mathematicians and physicists found that Pi can be used in many other ways as well including engineering, probability, statistics etc. It can also be used in calculating fluid dynamics, structure building, GPS, statistics, some geometric calculations and fields like electricity as well.
Conclusion:
Both Pi and Pi123 are the same things, the only thing that matters is Pi123 is the extended variation of Pi, and can be used in many other uses as well. Pi123 is a term that works beyond mathematics also including some very important calculations of physics, geometry, statistics, finance, engineering, structure building and GPS.
